Our second visit was as good as the first. Living Stones is making history with our Children of Inmates' Program. It is an awesome start and our organization is now connecting with other partners like First Baptist Church and Jacob Chapel to make this even a greater success, providing bus transportation and a staging area for breakfast and pick up and drop off site. This visit at Wakkulla CI Annex boasted twenty-eight children bonding with twenty fathers and fourteen caregivers. Being close to Christmas, Living Stones thanks those donating gifts and cash for children to experience how others do care about them during the holiday season. If you haven't gone to see a great movie yet, go see "Unconditional." It is more than just a movie and will keep you either wiping away the sniffles or on the edge of your seat. It has some unusual twists and turns. When you think you know the plot, it will surprise you. Yeah, to Michael Ealy and Lynn Collins for great acting.
When we get a movie that everyone can see, why not tell everyone to see it, make plans to go this weekend, and don't forget, if we want Hollywood and independent film makers to make the kind of movies we will go see, S-U-P-P-O-R-T this one. I want to see it again, so I hope to see you at the movies--AMC 20, Tallahassee Mall. This was a hard week for the ministry. We are meeting with clients, working the PR for the movie, and still needing to hear a word for ourselves. I loved that God loves me "Unconditionally". What an appropriate title for the movie premier for Friday, September 21, 2012 at AMC Tallahassee Mall 20. Our ministry is blessed, our families blessed, and anyone who associates with us--volunteers, mentors, facilitators, ministers, board members, and staff are blessed. Don't forget only 5 more days to the movie premier--you may still buy passes at www.welivingstones.org. Help us support our families in crisis by being a part of the solution. We look forward to seeing you on the front porch for conversation and your input at 604 Eugenia Street.
Living Stones mantra follows 1 Peter 2:4-9. It speaks of how we are living stones as God is the Living Stone. Rejection, denial, and toss away are the stones the stone builder does not used, but God takes these same stones using them with all our flaws and imperfections for His purpose. Further Peter tells us how we become the capstone, the stone that sits high and keeps the rest of the stones from wearing away. How awesome. Peter also informs us we "are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation. . .who (God) called you out of darkness into His marvelous light." This blog is about you--how to make you stronger, healthier, and a better Capstone.
