This was the theme throughout Living Stones' 3rd Annual Family Fun Day held in partnership with Walker Ford Community Center and Bridges of America. The event held for three years in a row is always on the 3rd Saturday of June.
It was a hot day, but with plenty of water and watermelon donated by FarmShare we stayed cool all day long. This year the acts as the kids say, were "off the chain." Performances by FAMU's Phi Beta Sigma, Family Praise & Worship Center's Praise Dancers, and Arsenal Martial Arts were awesome and informative. Ladies were attentive during the martial arts demonstration for learning a few techniques to combat anyone attempting to create harm.
Overall we served over 1,100 hotdogs, fried chicken thanks to Food Giant on Woodville Highway, and plenty of cold water and watermelon. Thanks to our sponsors, who again this year were generous. Click on Living Stones' website.
We also had twice the number of vendors: Leon County Humane Society, Leon County Tax Office, Bond Health Clinic, Neighborhood Medical Center, Literacy and Big Bend Cares, to name a few. Thanks to everyone who stood the heat to share their services. Special kudos to our City of Tallahassee's bicycle cops, City of Tallahassee Fire Department and their cute mini EMS vehicle, and Leon County Sheriff's Department.
